obsequious - attentive in an ingratiating or servile manner; attempting to win favor from influential people by flattery


Many politicians try to 'win' citizen's votes by being obsequious , which is a sign that said political is most likely an awful one. 

beatitude - one of the eight sayings of Jesus at the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount; in Latin each saying begins with `beatus' (blessed); a state of supreme happiness

A generic, yet important, goal in most everyone's life is to achieve a full state if beatitude. 


bête noir - person/thing that someone particularly dislikes 

Close-minded people are definitely one of my biggest bête noir's because they regress society, rather than advancing it to lead to a bigger and brighter, more colorful world. 


bode -  indicate by signs

 One might assert to another a disliking by using a method consisting of bode' s to give that person the message. 

dank -  unpleasantly cool and humid

Yo, this room gets straight dank during the summer, making me sweat all nasty and what not. 

ecumenical - of worldwide scope or applicability; concerned with promoting unity among churches or religions

Many respected literary pieces such as Walker's The Color Purple and Kingsolver's Poisonwood Bible contain ecumenical themes which is why they're still looked highly upon to this day and still studied in modern education. 

fervid - extremely hot; characterized by intense emotion

I love coffee, however detest the fervidness of the beverage which ends up burning my poor tongue. Ugh, my life is so complicated. 

fetid - offensively malodorous

Righetti, and 45% of Santa Maria for that matter, is fetid which makes me gag. 

gargantuan - of great mass; huge and bulky

Just because he is rather gargantuan does not mean he is any less thank one slimmer than him. 

heyday - the period of greatest prosperity or productivity

It's obvious that most celebrities who ruled the 80s/90s have far surpassed their heyday, their fifteen minutes have come to an end. 

incubus -  a male demon believed to lie on sleeping persons and to have sexual intercourse with sleeping women; someone who depresses or worries others; a situation resembling a terrifying dream

I would never want a friend who is incubus only to dim down the shine and brightness of my life. Hell no, step back. 

infrastructure - the stock of basic facilities and capital equipment needed for the functioning of a country or area; the basic structure or features of a system or organization

A government must have a stable and just infrastructure for it to be applied efficiently and effectively throughout whatever land, population, or organization it's reign is going to take over. 

inveigle -  influence or urge by gentle urging, caressing, or flattering

Promiscuous people may have an inveigle attitude or personality to drivers those around he/she. 

kudos -  an expression of approval and commendation

I plan to be on Dr. Preston's kudos board multiple times thru ok ghost the year, and I wish my colleagues the absolute same. 

lagniappe - a small gift (especially one given by a merchant to a customer who makes a purchase)

Merchants might persuade consumers to purchase their goods by offering a lagniappe with their purchase. 

prolix - ediously prolonged or tending to speak or write at great length

One who writes work that contains a lot of "fluff" tend to have prolix text pieces. 

protege - a person who receives support and protection from an influential patron who furthers the protege's career

A protege has a parent/child relationship with whoever is guiding the protege' s career. 

prototype - a standard or typical example

A prototype tends dto be revamped either a little or a loyal yet it's release, its a physical version of a'rough- draft'.

sycophant - a person who tries to please someone in order to gain a personal advantage

One with little moral and ethical integrity is a sycophant, only using other humans as objects to gain what he/she'll desire which in' most cases won't benefit the greater good of society. 

tautology -  useless repetition;  a statement that is necessarily true

A nice way to "say shut up and he to the point" is, "remove all tautology and be straightforward". 

truckle - a low bed to be slid under a higher bed; yield to out of weakness; try to gain favor by cringing or flattering

Don't get people to like you by truckling, show an authentic personality with authentic intentions to establish a healthy, loving relationship and people will naturally like you.
