Brave New 'Essayito'

We are living in a Brave New World, however not Huxley's literal Brave New World. By stating that the Brave New World is just around the corner for us (this being broadcasted a long while ago meaning we are living in it) is a bold statement. Saying that it's evident that technology has token over and human mindless-ness is rampant throughout our society are all heavy statements. However, Huxley does make a pint. Like in BNW, our society is heavily reliable o technology, think E-Mail, think Google Chrome with more than one billion download from the Google Play Android App Store, think Social Media, Gaming Apps, etc. Our lives are revolving more and more around technology which benefits as well as endangers us. This sort of technological reliance has led many to be mindless robots, as described in Huxley's novel. There he has a point, whether in public, at school, at home, you always see someone looking down on something. Their head facing downwards upon a phone screen. tablet screen. any sort of electronic medium that connects them to a virtual world which distracts them from real life interactions and activity. This causes selfishness - I care more about my emails, Instagram posts, and Facebook statuses than anybody surrounding me outside, ignorance - reading false interact articles only to believe that they are true, and overall, mindlessness. Being so reliable on technology sort of makes it an addiction, it creates an ironic mindless mindset in which a person is attached to his or her device and thinks it's a-ok while in reality it's an awful mess that destroys human interactions and makes it pointless to go out and physically see the world and it's people- our people, what's the point? All one need's is their device to enter a the technological black hole that is the Internet and Online/Social Media world. While more and more people are becoming technology addicted robots, it is not like BNW, where the rebel is the savage. If anything the rebel will be seen as a hero and not be afraid or hesitant to rise against the social masses, lashing out on technology and human mindlessness. Isn't that what Huxley was technically doing in this interview?... Overall, our Brave New World isn't as horrifying as the one portrayed in  Huxley's novel, however our world of diminishing mindfulness and knowledge could be taken over with the obsession and fascination of technology and it's gadgets, media, etc. that causes human mindlessness that is the problem.
