CHARACTER STUDY (II)

Time has passed and memories have definitely been made and it's now been four months spent at USC and Edgar, one of the freshman Trojans on campus, is relieved that he has some time to let his mind breathe and let his brain relax, however, he was upset that he was leaving the LA scene, seeing now that he is accustomed to it and has fell in love with it. Everything that's part of it, from the view of city lights from his dorm at midnight, leaving nightclubs at dawn, seeing a great amount of diversity and so many colors of people as he roams through the streets of Los Angeles and Hollywood. Anticipation built within Edgar as the semester ended because he landed a spot on a commercial advertisement for an H&M commercial as a model looking into (pointless) snowy scenery to promote their new line of winter sweaters. Edgar had to wait for the three days that they were going to shoot the commercial and needed a place to stay since all the USC students who resided in dorms needed to clear out their stuff and leave campus before the semester ended. Not wanting to be hassle to his parents and ask for rides to and from Los Angeles, Edgar stayed in a cheap motel to stay the extra week in LA to shoot the fashion advertisement. Another exciting event that Edgar was looking forward to was being an extra in a scene of the ABC sitcom "Modern Family" as a civilian who's paying money to a cashier in a scene taking place at an amusement park. The next day, Edgar packed his bags and got a ride from one his new friends at USC, Topher, to take him to the dreaded motel. Thanking Topher and saying bye to him for the next few weeks, Edgar "checked-in" to the motel, which looked like it was taken straight out of a 1930's horror film with decaying wallpaper, torn and dusty furniture, and an empty, dried-out pool that had more trash in it than the ugliest alley Edgar and Topher had to pass on the way to the motel. After an awkward conversation with the sketchy, middle-aged man at the check-in desk, Edgar settled in his room and let out a giant sigh. "It' just for a week...come on, it's just for one week...you gotta start at the bottom to achieve your goals, it's your dream, just do it.", Edgar said to himself. Being the curious and very adventurous person he was, Edgar roamed around the three floors of the shabby complex. The wild child noticed a room on the third floor that had an open door, the first open door he saw at the motel and decided to be nosy and find out who was staying in there. "Why not?" Edgar asked himself, a question he found asking himself quite often. The room seemed vacant, seeing no was settled in it, however Edgar saw some nostalgic suitcases that were light purple and had little flower graphics all over it on the ground. "Hmmm....cute, they look like the same suitcases she would have", Edgar thought to himself as he let out a chuckle. As he heard a door open and footsteps approaching behind him Edgar panicked and look behind him to see if it he could get a glimpse of a possibly attractive person coming out of the bathroom (again, nosy, adventurous, "Why not"...) and couldn't believe his eyes. What was she doing here?! Edgar saw his best friend for the first time in the four months that he was at SC, Millicent Angulo! "AH!!!! MILLIE!!!!" Edgar shrieked at the top of his lungs with tears accumulating in his eyes. "EDGAR!!!! OH MY GOSH!!!!", screamed Millicent, or, Millie. It turned out that Millie was staying in the same motel because she was going to attend a medical conference in Los Angeles for aspiring physicians attending college. Seeing that Millie attended UC Irvine, she was staying at the gruesome motel for the same reasons. Millie always carried a sense of guilt when it came to asking her parents for money and transportation so she was staying at the motel without her parent's knowledge- to them she was at the Holiday Inn in Irvine, in a safe neighborhood. Ha, suckers. Not even being able to get a word out to catch up on each others lives, Millie blurted out, "Guess who else is here?!" "Who??", Edgar anxiously asked. Then came out of the door, one of Edgar's closest and dearest friends who was also attending the conference as well as UCI, Sophia Gomez! "AH!! SHAVALAH EDGAR!!!", Sophia yelled abruptly. The two ran up to hug each other in tears, and quickly- knowing the three, it became a group hug. Little did they know that they were soon gonna get in too much chaos that they bargained for in their mini-reunion...
