THE POINT OF CANTERBURY TALES IS...

Canterbury Tales serves the purpose to show how different social classes interacted with another with their described roles in society and stereotypical, almost pre-assigned, personalities to them.  Portrayed greatly through satire and humor, The Canterbury Tale's author, Geoffrey Chaucer, lets the readers of the fabliau story gain knowledge of how different social rankings affected each and every different societal relationship with one another and serves to let the light shine upon the most arrogant of aristocrats and the most dirt-poor impoverished civilians by telling their truths through his satirical tone; either being beneficial or negative in regards to each different representative of the different societal positions shown throughout the story. This overall abolishing ignorance of the time period he lived in and showing a perspective that one held during that age.
